Hong Kong (Part 2)
Day 8- Mong Kok
A day @ Mong Kok. The streets: Tung Choi Street, Fa Yuen Street, Sports Shoe Street, Kam Yu Street and more. Event for today is SHOPPING!!! The shops and things selling in Mong Kok are lower in price as compared to the others. Two shops in New Century complex already took us around two hours to shop and try on the clothings. And of coz, we did buy a lot as reward. Tung Choi a.k.a Lui Yan Gai is something like Petaling Street. They have more goods to sell and surprisingly, I bought a lot from there. It's cheap, fun, and nice!!! The fun of bargaining with the people is just so challenging. It is necessary for every woman to master the art of bargaining!!! I guess pumpkin and I were pushing the people too hard till they rather to let us pin their head on to the wall...ahahahhahahahha...They even recognised us the next day we went back.
I bet media does play an important role in our daily life. I bought a few street names of Hong Kong this trip. Eg: Mong Kok, Lan Kwai Fong...etc...I feel cool abt it for some reasons. But then i'll nvr feel cool abt the street names in KL. Eg: Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Tan Cheng Lock...etc...Maybe I'll feel cool abt Jalan Alor. ^^ Guess sometimes we watched too much of the HK films and their influence are strong in some ways. I was darn excited when I saw all the street names selling in Mong Kok.
Day 9- Lan Kwai Fong
Went back to Mong Kok again to do our last shopping @ Mong Kok. I contributed most of my cash to this place. But who cares, i'm lovin the things I bought and admiring them right in front of me now...HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA...pssstttt!!! I thought I don't need to but guess what?!?! I called my mum to asked for more cash. Totally out of my expectation and budget...!!! Actually we were all tired after so many days of shopping and bargain war. No one realised it until we were brought to see some sight seeings and when we finally get to take some rest. Woman!!!Woman!!! But anyway, we went to Lan Kwai Fong at night to meet with Katie and some of her friends. It was soooooo crowded and it does feels different. We started the night in a bar to warm up, then proceeded to an underground club for some dance. Guess I was too tired. Dance for a while and find myself strengthless to stay at the dance floor further. It was a good experience though coz finally I got the chance to see how happening is Lan Kwai Fong and experience the Hongkie way of clubbing. Fun!!!
Day 10- Memoirs of Geisha
Slept for less than five hours and we were off to Kowloon Bay to yumcha with Franco's aunty- Aunty Peggy. Our first yumcha since we arrived in Hong Kong. Not too much difference with KL. I guess they have more varieties when it comes to dimsum. Then, we went to TST to buy the ferry tickets to Macau. I was quite surprised to know tht the pier is just located under the complex. Everything is about budgeting and getting the cheapest fare now coz cash is limited and cash aid from mum has not yet arrive. After tht, we went to Vim@ Silvercord to look for some t-shirts. Apparently it was one of the most happening complex now. Hohoho~~~
Memoirs of Geisha was the hightlight for today!!! The first movie for year 2006!!! We have been anticipating for this movie since last year. As promised and planned, we finally watched it in Hong Kong!!! Together with Franco's mum, Franco, and Herman. To me, I think it was a really good movie. They narrated the movie well and 80% of it was similar to the novel. The music adds credit to the movie. But I think Mameha's role really should have been played by Maggie Cheung instead. But overall, my verdict is 9/10 for this movie.
